Question: my wife is TB patient,can she use i pill tablet?

Hello,
Welcome to HCM.

Generally,all anti-tubercular drugs do not interact with i-pill (containing estrogen pills) but Rifampicin is known to interact with it and may reduce the efficacy of i-pill.

So,either she would require more than usual dose of i-pill if she is taking rifampicin simultaneously or she may use alternative form of contraception.

You may see your family physician or gynecologist who may advise you alternative methods of contraception like barrier contraceptives (condom or copper-T).
