Question: My age is 31 and my wife age is 30. My father died because of cancer due to smoking.
I want to know

1. Is there any tests available to detect cancer present anywhere in the body ? (We both don't have any medical issues)

2. Is there any need to do a cancer detecting test at a frequent interval to detect it in early stages for people like us without any health issues . We generally do blood test every 6 months. I am asking this because , I hear cases where people identifying the cancer at the last stage.

Brief Answer:
History is more important, tests as discussed

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Age of 31 and 30 is not much known to have cancer.
But to alleviate the anxiety you can surely go for the following:
Proper clinical history and examination by a Doctor. One of the most important in history are the following:
Appetite, weight maintenance, any change in bowel, bladder habits. For that matter any deviation in day-to-day life can indicate for any disease at the earliest. One does not need to be too much anxious.
General blood tests may not be much use for cancer.
There are specific ''tumor markers'' in blood tests. You may please consult an Oncologist or Oncosurgeron once and discuss about the needed tumor markers and get the relevant tests of blood done.
X-ray of chest and Ultrasound of abdomen when needed also adds on to rule out cancer.
For your wife- internal examination by a Gynecologistand pap-smear can help. Self examination for breast for any mass can be done by the person herself.

I hope this discussion helps you both.
Please feel free to to give feedback and ask any further relevant queries.
Have healthy lifestyle, food, proper sleep.
Avoid anxiety and stress.
And notice any changes as discussed above.
