Is There Any Way To Stop Or Shorten Breakthrough Bleeding?

Question: Is there any way to stop or shorten breakthrough bleeding? I take Sprintec contraceptive continuously and I can only go about 2 months before I start breakthrough bleeding. Today, I'm experiencing very light cramping and although the bleeding hasn't started, I know it's coming and I'm going on vacation on Wednesday. Is there anything I could do?
Brief Answer:
Start a new pack.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I think you can continue the next pack of contraception pills. It can be started from 21st pill of previous pack then next day start the first pill of next pack. Taking count that cramping has started it can be difficult to be prevented. Anyway you can have a. lighter period.
Hope I have answered the question.
