Question : I am experiencing pain in my lower back on the left side. The pain wraps around my side and into the stomach area. Could this be kidney stones or something else?
I can't sleep because of the pain. Is there anything I can take to lessen the pain?

Brief Answer:
most probably yes

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Such a pain in lower back radiating to the abdomen can be due to that sided kidney or ureter stone and/or infection of urinary tract as you have suspected.
Pain is also so severe, indicating the same.

Surely yes, you can take any painkiller that suits you and if it is available at your house. Or the else you have to take OTC painkillers.

Also needed is the tests of urine, blood and stool.
Ultrasonography and X-ray of abdomen along with clinical evaluation to know the exact diagnosis so that an appropriate management can be done.

I hope this answers your query and helps you.
With regards.
