Hello
Welcome to healthcare magic forum.

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem.

Common reasons for dark patches on arms and neck are,
- Sun exposure (due to harmful effect of UV rays)
- Nutritional deficiency
- Heredity
- Drug induced
- Hormonal imbalance
- Allergic contact dermatitis
- Acanthosis nigricans
- Obesity

Sun protection is natural, safe, simple and effective way to treat dark patches. You need to apply sunscreen with 50 SPF regularly. It should be apply 20 minutes before sun exposure and re apply every 3 hours. You can wear full sleeves and cotton cloths for better protection.

There are other natural ways to cure dark patches. However, we have to identify the reason first.

I would like to know about following points.
(1) Since how long you have dark patches?
(2) Are they stable or increase in size or color?
(3) Have you applied any cream or lotion over that?
(4) Is there any family history of similar lesion?
(5) Is there itching, burning or pain over it?

You have a feature to upload pictures / images by yourself on right side of this query page. You may want to post a photo of your skin lesion, so I can comment specifically.

Awaiting your response

Thanks XXXXXXX for Response.
I play outdoor games on weekends so used to spent outside 7AM to 11AM. I use Lotus sunscreen lotion. To some extent it is working. I have dark patches from quite sometime from around 7years. I didn't use any creams that time and from past year are so using sunscreen lotions.

(1) Since how long you have dark patches? --> 7 years or so
(2) Are they stable or increase in size or color? --> stable in size but color increase.
(3) Have you applied any cream or lotion over that? --> Use sunscreen Lotus while playing only. Using Melelite 15 from past few days during nights.
(4) Is there any family history of similar lesion? --> NO
(5) Is there itching, burning or pain over it? --> NO

Thanks

Hi

Thank you for your reply.

It looks like maturational hyper pigmentation or photo dermatitis. Treatment is same for both conditions.

-     You should continue sunscreen application.
-     Melalite 15 is good cream. Apply it at night for 12 weeks.
-     In morning you can use BAN A XXXXXXX cream, which contains grape seed extract and arbutin. It is good skin lightening cream.
-     Avoid rubbing or friction over the affected area as it increases pigmentation.

Skin patches will gradually lighten after using this treatment. You should continue it for minimum 12 weeks. As it has natural ingredients, it acts slowly.

I hope I answered your question.

Let me know if you have further query.
