Is There Interaction Between Ferrous Sulphate, Aspirin And Aciclovir?

Question: Hi I'm currently 39 weeks pregnant and at the minute I'm taking 200mg ferrous sulphate 3 times a day for anemia and also taking 75mg of aspirin a day for high blood levels. I just wanted to ask would it be safe to take aciclovir 400mg 3 times a day along with these as I have herpes and currently having an outbreak? Thank you

I understand your concerns about Herpes.

You can take aciclovir now along with these medicines . There is no risk to baby as you are about to deliver.

Thank you. My main worry is that it would cause an overdose or harm the baby by taking so many tablets

Hi,

It won't cause harm to baby. Don't worry.

Please take the treatment. Infact in some circumstances it is advisable to take the medicines till delivery as there is risk of transmission if Herpes to baby during birth.

I suggest you take the medicines and also discuss with your doctor if it is necessary to undergo C section to prevent transmission to newborn ( especially if you have genital Herpes).
