Is This A Side Effect Of Being On Opioids So Long And Will Her Homeostasis ?
Question: My wife took opioids for over 10 years ( as prescribed) she decided to stop at beginning of year. Previously no health issues, but for almost 3 months she has struggles with dizziness and heart palpations that an ekg says are pvc complexes. Is this a side effect of being on opioids so long and will her homeostasis come back once her body fully knows how to live without the opioids?
Brief Answer:
Yes
Detailed Answer:
Dear sir, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but withdrawing opioids cold turkey can be dangerous and can lead to some serious side effects.. The symptoms your wife is experiencing are due to abrupt withdrawal of her opioid medications.. please revise her heath-care provider to set a plan of withdrawing gradually the doses of opioid medication that she was taking.. This plan could take weeks or even months and will help ease the symptoms and allow her body to smoothly get used to lower doses of opioid and then to no doses of opioids.. This plan will be designed based on her blood levels of opioids and her health status. I hope you find this helpful..

She has not taken any in over 3 months. Are your saying she should start taking again? And then taper off? Thats sounds counter productive as she has been off successfully for more than 3 months.
Brief Answer:
According to test results

After 3 months of no opioids there will not be any opioids in her blood or urine. Are you an actual Medical Dr? I am really confused here. How can the blood test even test opioid levels if there are none. Opioids do not stay in urine or blood for 90 days so a test like this would be useless.

Yes
