Question : Hi I am a 24 year old male. When I was younger like 9-12 I had multiple bouts of strep throat and tonsillitis. I had my tonsils removed. I had a lymph node on the side of my neck come up that you could see if i turned my head one way. I went to the doctor and he felt it and said it moved and felt soft. It has stayed that way for years and I can no longer see it but sometimes if I feel my neck I can still feel where it is. Is this anything to be concerned about after like 10 or 12 years?

Lymph nodes in few locations can be seen swollen for longer duration even without any actual immune process going in the vicinity.

Only in case where the swelling increase in size over a short span of time 9r becom too painful, we would order an FNAC test to identify the reason for the same.
