Question : Is this bacterial or viral infection. Child aged 5 years having fever on and off since 5 days .. pain in ear today and weakness . Barely eating food

Symptoms are suggestive of middle ear infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello.... I understand your concern and the symptoms here are suggestive of middle ear infection.
He will require antibiotic for a period of 10 days and I would prefer amoxicillin-clavulanate.

But unfortunately this is a prescription medication and he will require a doctor's prescription for it please.

Do not put any drops in the ear.
