Question : I’m on 50 mg of Zoloft. It helps a lot with my anxiety but I’m worried about how I’ve been craving more carbs lately and that I may be gaining weight. To me that will cause even more anxiety and depression. Please let me know how I can prevent weight gain. Is this the antidepressant which causes the most weight gain?
Brief Answer:
No!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.
I have reviewed your query fully. Zoloft doesn't cause that much weight gain. It is actually one of the antidepressants that might rather cause weight loss and more likely to be associated with decreased appetite as opposed to increased appetite. I will say as long as you don't give in to the increased craving, your weight would not increase in any meaningful proportions.
I hope this guides and helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me as you please.
