Is Traveling Safe While Treating High BP?

Question : Hi am due to fly across Australia in two days. Journey takes 4 hours. Have recently had episode of high BP, after prolonged bronchitis resulting in my BP shot from normal always to 220/ 107, I was briefly hospitalised with diagnosis of Transient Global Amnesia I have now medication, valsartan 80 mg daily, but it still Varys from 144/83 to 160/89. Is it safe to travel am 67 female.

High blood pressure is definitely a cause for concern but on proper medication it is usually managed well. It can still be safe for you to travel but please talk to your doctor about dose modification and a stringent control of the blood pressure before you travel. You might need to take medication while on flight and you must keep the flight staff informed of your medical condition so that they can remain alert.
