Is Umbilical Hernia Dangerous?

Question: Recently my doctor found a small umbilical hernia through a CT scan. Should I be concerned about this?

The gravity of situation in umbilical hernia depends on the size of the hernia, the size of the neck and the contents

If the size is too small and contents are bowels they can get obstructed and cause emergency

If you have pain, which is not bearable and the size keeps on increasing get a clinical evaluation done and plan accordingly

I'm not sure of the content. My doctor really hasn't had a chance to go over the hernia with me. The nurse said it would be watched. I am tender around my belly button and have had problems with my bowel movements. XXXXXXX
