Question : I saw two single hair strands under the right arm of my 7 year old daughter. Nothing in the left arm. No other abnormalities noticed, as in no breast development or pubic hair. Growth parameters of height and weight all within normal range. I had a very difficult pregnancy and was on weekly hormonal injections till 6th month to sustain pregnancy. This was due to a bi-cornate uterus and previous miscarriage history.
I hope my daughter is doing normal and this is not a sign of early puberty?

                                    Brief Answer:
It is not a sign of precautions puberty
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health care magic.
I understand that you had a tough pregnancy but even if you received hormonal injections at that time, you may stay assured that they would not affect the hormonal balance of your daughter. Anyway, two strands of hair in the armpit are not the sign of precocious puberty and you need not get concerned.
Regards

Thank you so much. This has really put my mind to rest, especially after finding weird answers when I googled information about this on the net.
Just wanted to ask one more question. Is it true that children who are more on a non-veg and dairy diet stand at risk of early puberty? I had read on hormonal injections being given to cows and hens, and consequently kids who consume more of milk, eggs and meat stand at a higher risk of early puberty than those who do not.
From this angle, is it advisable to shift to organic milk and eggs for my kid? For milk, I currently use Amul Tetra Packs instead of the plastic pouches.
Thank you.

                                    Brief Answer:
You need not panic
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Glad to know that my answer was assuring. There is no known correlation between diet and onset of puberty of humans. You need not worry about hormonal injections given to cows and hens. It is linked to the contexuality and do not feel it relevant in your case.
In general, you can safely assume the available milk and eggs to be organic. You need not assume otherwise and can safely continue with what you are currently giving.
Regards
