Question: I believe I have an external pile (thrombosis)at the tip of my anus have been doing sitz baths and otc hemmoroid meds. Was waiting to see a urologist and woke up this morning to see blood on my sheets and went to bathroom to clean my self and see lots more blood coming out was wondering having experienced this in the past where my doctor then removed some pus and it was fine then how urgent is this? Was about 10 years ago or so.

Brief Answer:
See the Doctor asap

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history well and understood the concerns.
If the bleeding is from the pile/hemorrhoid then this may be urgent; may need ligation if the bleeding does not stop or recur.
Usually the bleeding stops.
Stop Sitz bath as this will increase congestion and may increase the problems.
Apply ice as it may help to stop the bleeding.

Also take laxatives to have soft stools.
Consult your Doctor or a Surgeon to get a confirmed diagnosis so that further management can be definitive.

Similar problem 10 years back may be due to an abscess formation and would have been painful that time.

Please get this done and give me feedback.
Take care.
All the best.
With Regards.

Thanks for the advice Dr. I did communicate with my primary and he said he doesn't do the procedure in office and referred me to a surgeon or a specialist, possibly a urologist..although I don't understand why not a proctologist. I had this same issue about 10 years ago and the Dr. was able to do the procedure in office and removed the pus in the thrombosis and I haven't had problems for years. I will do as you ask. I've sent a message to my Doctors Portal and was wondering if bleeding stops, how long can this go on with no serious complications? Just need a time specification..and Thank you very much

Brief Answer:
Is the bleeding still present - ice compression helps

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your feedback and query.
Yes, Proctologist is the best choice.
It is difficult to say for how long as every patient with similar problem responds very differently.
Has the bleeding stopped by now?

No it is still bleeding although not much. Can I use Hemmoroid medication for it? What do you think is best for it? I have tissue paper between buttocks and underwear and noticed there's still blood. What is the best thing to help make it stop and about the ice, how it that placed..it hurts to put it on the area?

Brief Answer:
Please visit ER.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
Pressure on bleeding point should help, but when it is properly applied after identifying the source.
If facility is available, visit to ER should help.
Better to visit ER.
