Question: Hello dr, a year back I have undergone all tests in that uric acid was 11. That time dr did not prescribe any medication since i had no symptoms. Now tested again, uric acid was 7.45. I'm having joint pain in legs(clicking sound in the knee joint), hands and toe(pain is mild). no swelling and tenderness or redness. please suggest me a treatment.

Brief Answer:
Allopurinol treatment, hydration

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

You can get tested for Blood urea and Serum creatinine to look for kidney function.

If they are normal you can take Tablet Allopurinol 200mg once a day for a month.

Avoid meat and their gravies, avocado, spinach, beer and other alcohol.

Drink 2 litres of water daily.

Do get tested for Serum Uric acid after a month.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Regards,
