default
Posted on Mon, 24 Oct 2016
Question: On 27 Sep, 2016 we got to know that my wife is pregnant by urine pregnancy test but 2 weeks ago (exactly on 13 Sep, 2016) my wife went to doctor for buttock pain & they did the urine pregnancy test before taking the XRAY on LUMBAR SPINE AP & LATERAL VIEW at that time result was negative.
Even we have done the Early Pregnancy Scan Report & results are below
Yolk sec: seen
Embryo: visualised
HeartBeat: visualized
CRL:5.0mm
FHR:122bpm
DIAGNOSIS: Single viable intrauterine pregnancy corresponding to 6 weeks and 2 days.
Both the ovaries are normal corpus lute seen in right ovary.

Query : Is there any chances that baby will get affected by X-ray ?

Hello Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Please clarify a few dates here.

When was her last menstrual period ?
Are her periods regular or not ?
Dates of taking urine pregnancy tests with results.
Date of X ray.
Date of USG scan.

One X ray can never damage the baby so please do not worry.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care

Detailed Answer:
So yes as per USG she was pregnant when the X ray was done.
But as I said with one single X ray, it is impossible to have damage to the pregnancy.
Please don't worry.
She should take folic acid five mg per day tablet one daily for first three months.
All the best.

Thank you for the brief answer regarding the X-ray & medicine that you suggested.

Now we are decided to continuing the pregnancy. After that we consulted the doctor and suggested to take the medicines

1) FOLVITE 5mg
2) CETRIZINE 10mg

Tested for GLUCOSE FASTING & TSH THYROID STIMULATING HORMONE
Got the reports & uploaded here
*My wife is having low TSH

How much it will affect the unborn baby ?
What precautions should we take care ?
What are the main reasons to get this low value in TSH ?
Any prescribed medicines during pregnancy ?

Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.
