Question : Hi Sir,

My mother age 60, has been fitted with 2 stents in 2019 and is on Brillnta, Atorlip, concor and ecosprin daily dose as prescribed by doctor.

I wanted to ask if it is safe for her to take Covid vaccine and which will be good for her Covxin or Covishield, pls advise.

I prefer covaxin for her

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Taking count of her past history of heart disease she needs to do the covid19 vaccination .
I would have preferred Pfizer biontech vaccine for her.
If the only two options she can have are covaxin and covishield I would prefer covaxin.
Covaxin is composed of died virion while covishield is similar to astra zeneca vaccine composed of non replicated viral vector.
There are not confirmed side effects in people suffering from heart diseases in neither of them but covaxin may be better.
