Question : Hello !
I have qestion about Opisthorchis - As i travel to Regions where Opisthorchis is common as Russia
Of cores i love fishing -
and sometimes i visit some people and we eat a fish -and i dont know weather it is good cooked
So i understand Opisthorchis is rather hard to diagnose - And it is very rare in my country - so it will be harder to diagnose

So I should get prophylactic treatment of Praziquantel

As it is effective and avoid siros complications !

There are no prophylactic treatment guidelines (with medications) for Opisthorchis infection.
Praziquantel is only used to treat the infection.
Moreover, there is always a chance of reinfection even if you treat it.
Opisthorchis infection can be prevented only by ensuring the fish that is consumed is cooked properly.
Deep freezing of fish at 20 degrees C for at least 48 hours also eliminates it.

and if i think that i have risk - but if i think i have risk i can take drug and treat possible infection
