Question : Hi good doctors, I'm having an afternoon colonoscopy tomorrow and am frightened that I won't be able to sleep, making me even more anxious than I currently am. Are you able to confirm that it's OK to take a 10mg temazepam to help me sleep? Thank for your anticipated help.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
I can understand the anxiety one gets.
Since Temazepam is a prescription medicine, you can take it only if your Doctor has advised/prescribed for you.
Colonoscopy is a simple procedure usually done under sedation or general anesthesia hence do not worry about the procedure.
Hence I would advise you to try and sleep without any anxiety or tensions and you may have proper sleep.
Continue taking your medications for Asthma as before.
If you get a sleep then you may not need Temazepam or any such medicine.
And such medicine is better avoided in asthma patients as per my understanding and learning.

So please stop worrying.
