Brief Answer:
Mammogram is the test

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Mammogram is the test used to screen for breast cancer.
Yes alcohol has been associated been increased risk of many diseases including cancer. So it is a great decision to quit alcohol.
Mostly the risk of getting any disease from alcohol will nullify in 3-4 weeks in her case and 2-3 months in your case.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

So as stated above in my question the amount she in take till now can lead to breast cancer or not?

Or does she have any chances of breast cancer related to the amount she drank ??

And also why in her case disease related to alcohol that increase chances of breast cancer will nullify in 2 or 3 weeks and in my case any cancer chance will diminish in 2 or 3 months ?

Also like in non drinker women chances of getting breast cancer out of 50 women is only 6 can have and women who drink 6 units of alcohol then chances out 50 women is 10 can have breast cancer in their life time so my question is if women quits and stop drinking then in how many years or days her chances will drop back to non drinker women that is 6 out of 50?

Also in blood work like CBC what we should see platelets or hemoglobin or what in order to detect might she has cancer?

Also should I take her for mammogram test or not?

And at what age we should take care more of this breast cancer ? Do this have treatment and survival chance ? What are the signs of breast cancer and main causes other than alcohol and genetic ??

Brief Answer:
Her chances at current exposure is near to non-drinker

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

She is not drinking much and is drinking not so regularly. So her current chances of breast cancer are same as non-drinker but her chances of other alcohol related problems like increased risk of inflammation, fatty liver etc are raised to some extent due to metabolites of alcohol.

Care for breast care is taken after age of 50 yrs. Before this age, she can just feel her breast for any lumps. If any lumps are present then only further tests are needed. On complete blood count, ESR maybe raised. Otherwise CBC is done to check whether there are increased chances of infection or not in people requiring cancer chemotherapy.

In your own case, as you stated previously that you used to drink. It means that there was some regularlity in your drinking habit. In regular alcohol intake over prolonged periods, the risk of fatty liver and other health conditions gets raised significantly. It takes a few months of abstinence to lower the risk to non-alcoholic population.

Hope this clears your doubts. Feel free to write back in case of more doubts.
