Question : Hi i was wondering why whenever i get an iv, when the needle is in just past the tip, whether its at a 30,45 or flush angle, the needle tip hits something and it feels like stabbing
Brief Answer:
It may be touching the nerve
Detailed Answer:
Hi
During IV,the needle is inserted into a Vein. When the needle tip touches a Nerve, then only stabbing pain occurs.
It's better to introduce an IV Catheter and give injection/fluids through it.As the Catheter tip is soft, there will be no pain.
Hope I answered your query.
If you have any questions,I will clarify further
