Brief Answer:
A spinal cord issue may be causing it such herniated disc or narrowing

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to "Ask a doctor service" . I read your query and here is my advice.

The back pain you are suffering from may be caused by a spinal cord issue like a herniated disc ( bulking disc causing compression in nerves) or a spinal stenosis ( narrowing of spinal canal increasing pressure on nerves).
It can is advisable to do a x-ray of spine where the pain started to see spine conditions.
Using cold or warm pads is good but you can also have more rest and use antinflamatory drugs such advil or naproxen for pain and inflammation. This will help you have less symptoms.

Hope I have answered the question.

Brief Answer:
Kidney stones or infection is also possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.

There is a possibility of you having a kidney infection or stones but you may even have other symptoms like fever, elevated body temperature, frequent urination, blood in urine or dark color urine.

If you have any of these symptoms you can tell me.
In this case, it is advisable to do an ultrasound abdomen and a urine analysis.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
