Question : Hi - I’ve been referred to a haematologist who has asked for further blood tests and diagnosed as chronic thrombocytosis.
Persistent platelet count ~521. Iron level 6 and ferritin 26.

Iron deficiency is the most probable cause of thrombocytosis

Hello,
The blood report shows low ferritin with iron and saturation on lower side.
Thus, there is an iron deficiency.
Based in these findings I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for prescription of iron supplements.
Thrombocytosos is often seen associated with iron deficiency.
Thus, thrombocytosos is expected to be corrected after iron supplementation.
