                                            Consider infectious mononucleosis
Detailed Answer:
Hello, I'm Dr. Branch, thanks for using Ask a Doctor. I'm sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well for the past month, it can certainly get frustrating when dealing with an illness for that long. The symptoms you describe sound like a viral infection, which can last several weeks, and sometimes just as you are recovering from one, you can get infected with another. But especially with your fatigue and sore throat symptoms, I would want to check you for infectious mononucleosis, particularly if you also had swollen lymph nodes. This can be done with a blood test. You should also be checked for HIV if you have any risk factors (such as being sexually active).
With infectious mononucleosis, there is no specific treatment, and most symptoms resolve by one month, but the fatigue can last several months.
I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any other questions about that and I would be glad to discuss it further with you.
