Usually diarrhea is cause virus and is self limiting in nature and limits itself in 7-10 days.
However if it's not responding then you should go for a test called stool routine and culture.
Some times it's caused by bacteria and protozoa and require antibiotic therapy.
However for the time being you can replace lomotil by Imodium 4 mg thrice to control diarrhea.
Get the test done and follow up.
