You need further evaluation and investigations.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Welcome to 'Ask a doctor' service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX
I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.
Heat and redness are signs of inflammation and you might be suffering from arthritis.
You should get further evaluated to find out the cause and nature of your knee's swelling and redness.
You need to go for blood work including ESR, Rheumatoid factor,Serum Uric Acid,Serum calcium and Phosphorus and x-rays of the bilateral knees.
Such patients might need a joint MRI to see the bone, condition of the hinge, synovial fluid, menisci and ligaments.
Time being,Give rest to your knees and keep the limbs elevated.
You can take Over the counter anti-inflammatory drugs like Acetaminophen,Ibuprofen or naproxen for pain and swelling.
Use cold compresses to reduce inflammation and relieve swelling.
Hope I have answered your Query.
Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards.
