Question : Last month I took Plan B twice in 72 hours and my period came a week early on the 14th. This month I took Plan B on the 26th. I also started my routine birth control shortly afterwards. It is now May 12th when I should be starting my period and I have no signs. I took a pregnancy test yesterday and this morning (clear Blue and First Response) both we’re negative. Should I have concerns of being pregnant? Is my period delayed due to all the hormones?

Brief Answer:
Delay is due to hormonal pills.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Taking high dose hormonal pills like Plan B frequently are not recommended as these cause hormonal disturbances. In your case since you are also taking a regular birth control pill your periods will be delayed. This is not due to pregnancy. Negative pregnancy tests have ruled out the pregnancy. There is no need to worry.
