Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
If this intermenstrual bleeding has happened for the first time then it is likely to be due to an early period due to mild hormonal disturbance. You need to watch for the bleeding to subside spontaneously over next 3-4 days.
In case the bleeding is heavy or it continues for a longer period or this happens again in the next cycle then you should consider visiting a gynecologist for a proper examination and hormonal therapy to regularize your periods.
Hope this answers your query. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.

Wishing you good health.

thank you for your reply , I was unsure if the bleeding was a sign of cervical cancer so i have been feeling quite anxious .

Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Cervical cancer is one of the causes of intermenstrual bleeding. But in your case since the bleeding is continuous, a hormonal imbalance seems more likely.
In case the bleeding is recurrent then a physical examination by a gynecologist is necessary to detect the cause.
Hope my answer is helpful.
