Question : Light colored stools, excessive burping and abdominal discomfort on the upper right abdomen under the ribs.

I have attached an image of my light colored stool.
I spoke to my doctor about the stool but did not share the image with him. He told me unless its dark or completely white or pale its normal. I have never had pale colored stools until these issues started.

I saw the picture.
The stool Colour is not abnormal.
White coloured stool is mentioned in Obstructive jaundice.Hope there is no jaundice.
I prefer Liver function tests and Ultrasound abdomen for confirming Obstructive jaundice.If these investigations are normal,then nothing to worry.
Stool Colour depends on the type of food you have taken.

I dont have jaundice, and had a Ultrasound done in April which came back as normal.

Is it normal color stool. I get this type of stool 1-2 times in a month

I ate paneer, palak paneer yesterday. Should have been green or brown in color right. I have been having heartburn and lots of burping since yesterday

I did do LFT and GGT in April which were normal

Also, had a CT scan of abdomen with contrast in April which again was normal. The light colored stools issue started in March, and I get 2-3 light stools every month

Is this something I should be worried about? I also have on and off (intermittent) upper abdominal discomfort on the right side under the ribs

Hi
To say it as abnormal,the stool should be white and it should be passed daily.As it is intermittent,there is no problem.
It is.light yellow,not white.
For heart burn,I prescribe Rabeprazole along with Domperidone to my patients.
CT scan will diagnose any condition in the Gut,Liver, Pancreas, Kidneys etc.As it is normal, you can relax.
Upper Abdominal discomfort could be due to food you take.Please take small frequent feeds.Avoid outside food,spices, carbonated drinks etc.Eat fresh fruits and vegetables.
As CT scan is normal, there is no need for an MRI.
If your urine is yellow,then go for LFT.
Please relax.You are perfectly alright.

Also, do you think this could be an issue of the bile ducts? I have asking my doctor for an MRCP or MRI for the same for sometime, but he keeps on assuring me that everything is okay and its just stress and the foods that I eat.
