Male 75 – Diabetes II, Metformin 500 Mg. 2 A
Question: Male 75 – Diabetes II, Metformin 500 mg. 2 a day. Labetol and Lisonprnel for hypertension. Under control. I have one of those little pencil size thermometers you put under your tongue. At work, it's with one you put on your forehead. At work, it's always run between 96.7 and 97.9. This little one keeps showing (I'm taking it as I type this) ----- 98.2 then 99.1, 98.9. then 99.1, back to 98.9 up and down I feel ok. Just worried about that covid-19. Stupid question --- IF it was covid, wouldn't my temp just keep steady rising and not bounce back and forth?? OR are those little ones not too accurate??? VERY WORRIED.

Different thermometers can have different accuracy, and assuming you don't have any other symptoms (cough, shortness of breath), I would not be concerned about this temperature difference at all. It is still well within the normal range, and you are right in that if you did have COVID or another infection, the temperature would typically rise to the level of being a fever (100.4 and above). So as long as the temperature does not rise to that level, and again, as long as you don't have any other symptoms of infection, I wouldn't be worried about this.
