Question : Me (male) had vaginal sex. I now have a Cacher sore. Before noticing it I ruptured it. Little blood, now clear fluid. I tested non reactive for syphilis. 10 days after exposure with a rapid test. Did I test to soon?

i have gone through your query and here is my advice.

As per many studies, Antibodies may be detected after few weeks, so there is possibility of negative report after 10 days of exposure.

Please let me know do you have fever, burning micturition, penile discharge, itching?
Whether sore is painful or painless?

At present to confirm diagnosis, I would suggest you to do sore discharge culture, urine culture, complete haemogram, FTA-ABS tests after detailed medical examination and physician's opinion.

Till then you can apply hydrocortisone ointment locally three times a day. In case of pain, you can take tab. acetaminophen 500 mg three times a day. These medications may be available over the counter.

I think that it is a good news that you are negative for syphilis .There is no need to get test again because this test after 10 days is very accurate.

I have gone through many references and I found that antibodies may be detected after few weeks or even after 3 months.

So as explained in previous answer, I would suggest you to do investigations and follow up with detailed history.
