Memory Loss, Shaking, Sweating. Is It Okay To Take Topamax, Lasix, Recreate And OxyElite Pro?
Question: Hello there, My son is 13 years old, overweight 122 kilos 1.75 height ahe was prescribed with topamax 450mg daily, 2 x lasix tablets 2 x Recreate and 1 x Oxy Elite Pro.
He is suffering from memory loss, shaking, vomiting, sweating he crys alot
Is it okay to take these tablets together?

He can take Topamax, Lasix and Oxyelite pro. There are no known interaction between them, it can be taken together.
However I could not find the constitution tablet Recreate, please let me know what it contains so that I can help you with it.
I would like to add here since he is taking Lasix and you have mentioned that he tends to vomit frequently, you will need to be on a regular follow up with your doctor to keep a check on his sodium levels once a month.

Oxyelite is made by the same company as UPS Recreate. The instructions state clearly that neither should be taken by anyone under the age of eighteen and any adverse effects should be reported immediately to a doctor. Topamax can be prescribed as an OFF LABEL drug at the doctors discretion but surely if my son was having such bad side effects the doctor should have taken him off the medication

Please bare in mind this doctor was also treating my son with acupuncture as a weight loss programe so why all the medication. (What about Lasix)?

Also if you ought to continue taking Topamax as a weight loss drug even though you are having severe side effects? Sorry this sounds somewhat unethical to me!

Topamax contains Topiramate which is primarily used to treat seizure and migraine but it is also used to treat obesity, it has a quality to reduce appetite to a certain extent.
If the memory problems and confusion has come after starting this drug then it has to be stopped immediately as it is known to cause this adverse effect.
Lasix is a diuretic. It is used as anti hypertensive, it also reduces free water from the body. It should not be used as a Oxyelite Pro is a very popular weight loss supplement. It contains extracts from various plants, roots and vegetables. They claim that it has no side effects but if they have mentioned in the packaging that it should be taken only by 18 years and older then please do not give it to your child.
I must add here that your doctor is advising a rather unconventional method to treat weight loss, please take a second opinion from another doctor.
