Question : My 12 year old daughter received the flu shot and second dose of Gardasil 9 on Novmeber 6th. Her first dose of Gardasil 9 was administered in April of 2017. She fainted immediately after both shots were given on November 6th. Since then she appears pale and tired. I am very worried because i have read so many horror stories online about adverse side effects of Gardasil 9. Is it normal for her to look pale and tired. It has now been 9 days since the shots were administered. Is it safe to give the flu shot and gardasil 9 at the same time?

                                    Brief Answer:
Any painful procedure like vaccination can again cause fainting

Thanks for using the 'Ask A Doctor' service.
Fainting can occur due to many painful procedures including vaccinations of many types. Any sort of fainting can be associated with looking pale or tired. It is therefore not something to worry about.
However, I do not consider that Gardasil is behind this. Please note that further doses of injections (for vaccination or for any other cause) may also lead to fainting, whether now or in the future. In future, therefore, it is to be best to discuss with your family physician before you go ahead with it.
