Question : My 12 year old son had sudden onset of diarrhea and three up many times during 7 separate episodes. My doctor prescribed him Zofran to stop the nausea. It has been over 48 hours since he started this, no more throwing up, or diarrhea , no zofran for 36 hours but his stomach really hurts around his lower belly. He's drinking fluids but no appetite, and feels very week.

                                    Brief Answer:
Gastroenteritis
Detailed Answer:
Dear parent, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but it seems that is suffering from gastroenteritis.. please give him Imodium and dysflatyl every eight hours to ease the pain and stop the intestinal spasms.. you should also refer to his doctor for prescription of metronidazole to clear any possible infection.. I hope you find this helpful.. If you don’t have any other clarifications then please close the discussion.
Thanks.
