Question: My 19 year old son, college student, deeply worries and a psychiatrist recently prescribed Prozac for him 20-30 mg. It keeps him awake. I have a supplement called Cortisol Manager by Integrative Therapeutics to be taken once a day at night for thirty days. Are the Prozac and this supplement incompatible? I've seen (who knows what kind of) data that suggests Prozac can raise cortisol levels.

Hello ,
Prozac is an antidepressant and anti anxiety drug. In depression cortisol or stress hormone levels are in high levels. Prozac helps to treat depression and also lowers Cortisol levels.

Though there are no specific studies on Cortisol Manager and Fluoxetine but I don't think they are incompatible. Prozac lowers the levels of cortisol and thus should supplement the cortisol manager.
