Question : My 6 year old son has a sore throat. Big white lump on tonsil and it looks like his uvula is stuck to his tonsil. No fever . No meds given yet .. started this evening

Through reading your query I would like to help you with this question. Your son, 6 year old with sore throat and tonsil enlargement and tonsil exudate (pus) according to your picture report can be caused by tonsillitis. There is a symptom that your son has for strep throat. The symptom should be sore throat and exudate, inflamed uvula, his doctor may need to do a rapid antigen test or culture for group A Streptococcus (GAS). The goal of treatment is antibiotics therapy for strep throat is to reduce symptom severity and duration, prevent acute complication, prevent spread to others and prevent delayed complications or immune sequelae particularly acute rheumatic fever. So we recommend antibiotic treatment for any patient with symptomatic pharyngitis or tonsillopharyngitis.
