Question : My dentist is away on vacation for the summer so unable to ask him. Always in the past, he would use composite resin in a bridge I use as a temporary due to a nerve condition. Composite resin was white and being so, easily adjusted should it feel too tight. This time, however, he put in some kind of clear resin which cannot really be seen. It does feel a little tight on the post and need some shaved off. My question is twofold. My alternate dentist does not have a sandblaster drill, only a regular drill and wondering if it can be adjusted with that? Also, in its compound mixture is there any significant difference in pure resin vs composite resin that I'm used to? Thanks so much

Brief Answer:
It can be done with regular drill

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for approaching us with your query.

I read through your query.I must say that there is nothing to worry in this.

Regarding your first question on the drill..This resin can be adjusted with our regular drill. Our regular drill is has good rpm so that I had good amount of rotations to adjust the resin.

Regarding your second question on the pure resin..actually composite resin is a combination of few resins to get desired properties of strength colour esthetics and setting etc.It is actually a resin only.

Regarding pure resin it's strength and setting and colour will be different.so does its properties. But both can be used.So nothing much to be worried.

You are used to composite resin so you feel a little difference in the pure resin
