Perhaps the area is infected. I suggest you to take an oral antibiotic e.g either amoxicilin or cephalexin for a week. In addition I suggest you to take an oral anti-inflammatory e.g ibuprofen or diclofenac, twice daily for a few days. These are prescription medications.
