Brief Answer:
May benefit from antibiotic prophylaxis...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Based on your description your brother has chronic pustular acne on his back. I couldn't find a picture attached, but your description is classical of pustular acnes.

There are medicated creams available to treat acne, however since the problem is a chronic and recurrent one, in my opinion it is best to consider antibiotic prophylaxis. Clindamycin and doxycycline are used on daily basis to treat and prevent recurrent pustular acnes. He can start with a prescription from a dermatologist.

Since he may not be able to consult a dermatologist now, I would suggest the following for use until he visits a dermatologist for a prescription.
1. Avoid touching or popping acne lesions.
2. Practice good hygiene.
3. Clindac A 1% gel for topical application on pustular acne (pus formed acne).

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards
