Question : My child got blood on her hand from an adult giving her physical therapy. Just a smear. It was washed off. We didn’t see any broken skin, but she does have hangnails.

If skin is untouched, without cuts there is no possibility of transmittion

I read your query and here is my advice.

If the skin is untouched without open sores or cut then there is no risk of HIV or other blood transmitted diseases.
Hangnails may be a problem because they form a cut on skin and it can make the transmission possible.
If the blood was far from Hangnails there is no problem but if it is over hangnail there is a possibility of transmitting diseases through blood and tests should be done.
