Question: My daughter has this hard swelling at the site of the bcg injection given at birth. She’s 1 and a 1/2 now. It came up only few months ago n doesn’t seem to be bothering her or painful. Is this common?

This is not uncommon ( as is said in medical language). Seen in some persons. The usual appearance is a white spot that is soft and supple.
The scar is healing mechanism by body.
Scar can be thin and supple, can be hard and gets larger, occasionally can become a keloid.
This usually depends upon how the body is going to respond to the challenge of anything that is foreign. And this varies from person to person.
