Question: My father age is appx 61 years. While walking his legs gets rotate from knee and falls down. Currently physiotherapy is going on. No much improvement observed. I want to know is there any better option is available for recovery. MRI report is attached for knee and waist.

Hi,

Thanks for your query.

I have gone through the details and reports. He is having ACL tear. If he is unable to do his daily activities, surgery is the only option. If he is able to do then continue physiotherapy and he should be very careful not to fall down. As falling can lead to hip fracture etc, which is very difficult to manage in old age.

I suggest you get an ACL repair surgery so that he can be carefree for another 5 to 10 yrs.
