Brief Answer:
It's advanced disease

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

It appears that he has got small cell lung cancer with metastases to liver. It is incurable and carries very poor prognosis. Average survival usually less than a year.

In this scenario we usually prescribe chemotherapy along with immunotherapy to prolong the survival.

Hope this helps.

Thank you. What I would like to do is send you periodically new medical documents as they come along. Should I do this with new consultations? Can we keep track of the documents I already sent? The last few weeks since he started chemo my father looks and feels better, he even gained weight (5 kg). Can this be a sign that chemo is effective?

You can continue this thread by topping up as and when required.

You may also close this and start a new direct query to me. But then you will need to upload all reports again.
