Question : My female friend who is 41 is having considerable pain in her jaw and lower gums. Plus she has earache. And her face is all swollen. Any ideas on what this might be?

When I signed up for this I was told I would get an answer immediately. It is going on toward 1 hour now. The urgent care clinics around us close soon so if I need to take her in I need to know NOW.

It could be due to Infection

Hi
I saw the pics.
Pain in her jaw and lower gums could be due to Infection and associated inflammation. This has to lead to the swelling of the face also.
I prescribe an Antibiotic like Clindamycin along with Anti-inflammatory tablet to my patients with similar complaints.
You should Consult your Dentist or General Surgeon and proceed further.
Nothing to worry. It will come down with antibiotics.
