Question : My girlfriend and I were play fighting and I was hit hard on the left/center of my throat. It hurts to swallow - no voice changes or visible bruising/swelling. Do I need to go to a doctor?

I read your query and here is my advice.

I think this is nothing serious since no bruising and swelling us present and no hoarseness voice are present.
This should get better the following hours and days. If you experience bruising or swelling go to ER.
Meanwhile take acetaminophen for pain.
