It’s most likely cellulitis ie inflammation of the tissue. Now it could be because of some infection or if it is not infected before there is high chances of it being getting infected.
If it gets infected there are chances that the infection could spread in the body there by causing septicaemia.
It’s highly advisable that you should take her to your primary physician as she will be requiring some cleaning and dressing and also some antibiotics.
