My Grandson Who Is Three Years Old Had A Small Bump Or Bug Bite Any Suggestions As To What This Might Be

Question: My grandson who is three years old had a small bump or bug bite in right side of his face located between the ear and his eye noticed last night. He had no history of trauma. He woke up this morning with redness and swelling over his right cheek and lower right eyelid. No fever, no pain, no apparent itching, no tenderness. He went to preschool after being given Benadryl. Treated with benadryl again this evening and ice pack. Only slight improvement, but the redness and swelling do not seem to be bothering him. I took him into an Urgent Care and at this point we recommended observation. Any suggestions as to what this might be? Anything else to do?

Brief Answer:
Looks like some bite,Don't worry, observe closely

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through the details and do understand your concern.
After seeing the image and as per your description,I agree with you and to me also it appears to be some bug bite or some allergy.
I won't get overly worried as it is not increasing in size, there is no significant associated symptoms and otherwise child is active, playful and doing well.

Here I would suggest you to continue. giving Benadryl (an antiallergic)and observe closely. I hope it should improve within 3-4 days but if you are noticing that it is getting worsened please consult your physician to rule out any underlying infection.

I hope this helps.
wishing for rapid recovery of your child.
I shall be glad to help if you need any further help.
Regards
