Question : My husband has been getting horrible pain once a day in his penis and testicles, accompanied by an urge to urinate but can't. This isn't all the time, but when it happens, he almost faints from the pain. After this, his urine is discolored (very dark) but not bloody. He has had kidney stones in the past, but that was like 20 years ago. He has been to a urologist about the discolored urine, but he said nothing was wrong that he could determine without further tests. My husband doesn't have insurance, and he wasn't in pain at that time, so he didn't follow up.

Thanks for query .

Based on the facts that you have posted severe pain in penis and testicles accompanied by urge to pass urine that your husband has could be most likely o be due to Benign Enlargement of Prostate (BEP)which is common at this age or due to stone impacted in Posterior urethra which needs to get investigated

Consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.

.Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.
