My Husband Went To See His Doctor For Severe Pain

Question: My husband went to see his doctor for severe pain in his foot and he prescribed colchicine for gout. My husband took two tablets and one more an hour later, as directed, and tonight his foot is the worst it's been. He feels like he's stepping on hot coals. And he got a chill stepping outside for a minute, and now he starts shivering if he even puts his hand out of the covers. Can he take Tylenol along with the colchicine for the pain and chills? Is there anything else that will help his pain?
Brief Answer:
He can take Tylenol, advil or naproxen.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
He can take Tylenol and colchicine together. There are no interactions between Tylenol and colchicine.
The doctor may have prescribed even medications for pain despite the colchicine which is used to reduce acid uric levels.
He can take NSAIDs nine steroidal antinflamatory drugs such advil or naproxen for pain and fever.
Hope I have answered the question.
