Question: My husband%E2%80%99s biopsy report seems to indicate tgat it is a low grade cancer, but the doctor%E2%80%99s lab message mentions medium grade XXXXXXX 6. i dont understand this discrepancy.

Thanks for query .

Based on the facts and histopathology report of Prostate Biopsy of your husband it seems that he has low grade prostate cancer There are two methods of grading prostate old one is based on Glesons score and new one bis based on grading .

Generally it is the Glesons Score that is used world wide and Glesons Score 6 is considered to be base line (Low Grade) where as new grading system considers grade one to be moderate one ..
However both are low risk slow growing cancer confined to Prostate gland and not infiltrated beyond capsule of prostate and can be treated by either Radiotherapy or Radical surgery of Radical Prostatectomy .
